Art On the Riverfront Presents: “Shades of Blackness”, A Black History Month Event. Held at Brix Wine in Detroit. This exhibit will feature 16 talented  local Detroit artists of color. This show will serve as a vehicle for each artist involved to share with the viewer what “Blackness” means to them through their particular style and choice of medium, expanding on culture, history, familial ties and identity. Setting the tone and vibe for the evening we are pleased to have internationally known DJ/Producer John Jammin Collins of Underground Resistance providing the soundtrack for this amazing event.

Also there will be a special presentation by: Artist Nathan Spratt Jr. and Roger Penzabene, Owner of WJZZ Detroit Jazz Radio to the Widow of Detroit Jazz great Marcus Belgrave.

Opening Reception: February 10, 2024 | 6 – 9pm
